On October 5, 2024, a written complaint was filed by Shripada Sarkar, son of the late Khitish Sarkar, a resident of Goas, PS Karimpur, Nadia. Shripada Sarkar is the proprietor of a jewellery shop named "New Lovely Jewellery" located at Mahisbathan Bazar. In his complaint, he reported that on the same day, at approximately 09:30 hours, upon opening his shop, he discovered that unknown miscreants had committed theft. Approximately 150 grams of gold and 5 kilograms of silver were stolen from the shop.
As a result, Karimpur Police Station Case No. 185/24, dated October 5, 2024, under Section 305 of the BNS Act, was registered. During the investigation, based on information from reliable sources, Investigating Officer SI Subasish Biswas arrested Ikram Seikh (31), son of Babar Ali Seikh, a resident of Maheshnagar Gandhipara, PS Chapra, Nadia. The arrest was made in Boro Andulia.
During the period of police custody, on October 7, 2024, the following stolen items were recovered and seized from the accused's residence at Maheshnagar, PS Chapra, based on information provided by the accused:
1. Silver ornaments weighing 5 kilograms,
2. Gold ornaments weighing 66.860 grams,
3. Five rings weighing 1.45 grams,
4. Thirty-six pairs of bangles.
The total stolen articles were successfully recovered.
