In the early hours of today, two men were apprehended while transporting a significant quantity of contraband, suspected to be ganja, on a bus with registration number WB 57 E 5522. The accused, identified as Israfil Mondal (45), S/O- Soleman Mondal of Srirampur, PS- Domkol and Sadhu Mondal (59), S/O- Lt Kalimuddin Mondal from the same area, were caught during a routine check.

Along with the two suspects, the bus driver, Avijit Biswas (37) of Karimpur  and the  conductor, Rathin Kundu (38) of Karimpur were also detained for their involvement.

The police team of Chapra PS have seized the bus and the contraband and are conducting further investigations to uncover the source of the illegal substances and any possible connections to a larger drug trafficking network.
